Another trip around the mini trail

Another trip around the mini trail

Took another trip around the mini trail. Was really nice this time decided to stop at the docks along the way and snap a few photos. Also had a seafood platter at fish n ships and it was delicious. Such a great trip around the trail though, really nice.

Couple of shots down at the wharf

Then a quick stop for a delicious seafood platter

Went down to the beach and played... because I drive a KLR. Got a little stuck at one point but just picked the rear end up and moved it and away I went.

Well another really nice relaxing trip down the mini trail. Feeling pretty confident this is the greatest bike ever built... and it's a Kawasaki... go figure. Oh yeh without the stickers on people have been asking me if the bike is a BMW... I laugh and say no... Kawasaki, people's jaws just drop, it's pretty great.

Decals off!

Decals off!

Decided to take the decals off the bike finally, wasn't sure what I thought of it initially but I really love the look now.

My trip to Cape Breton

Cape Breton

Got to spend a few days in Cape Breton as I had to get the bike serviced in Louisdale, NS Babin's service shop for it's 1000km service. Had alot of fun heading back to the Cape, went and stopped in at a few spots I knew as a kid. Took a couple of photos along the way. Nothing clears the head more and relaxes you then driving in the back roads of Cape Breton for some reason.

Some photos from a site where a friend of mine was killed by a drunk driver

Stopping along the way to a photo along the way

Cool little dirt path taking me to the lake where I could snap a picture

Hummm... Gillis lake falls... a hot day... wonder what I should do next?

Nice little quick swim, no swimming shorts or anything just jumped in with my jeans on, very refreshing

Just a beautiful spot, I would have taken the KLR but someone put up a gate on the trail that gets you there.

The great big fiddle in Sydney

The boardwalk...

Old military post, thought the KLR looked cool near a tank

Stopped off at a old dock here cause some jerk was tailgaiting me despite me cruising 10km/h above the limit, so I decided it was a good plate to take a photo and relax so I could enjoy the rest of the ride.

Another quick stop along the way.

All and all Cape Breton was a great trip. I didn't get photos everywhere I went but had a few really nice rides. The back roads and the old route 4 are a great way to go but I am getting really excited for my trip on the Cabot Trail / Newfoundland at the end of the month / the start of August.

Fun in the mud

Some fun in the mud

So after a particularly unparticular day I decided to get on my bike and go for a nice little drive. Wasn't going anywhere too hard I thought maybe some back highways... well my KLR disagreed with me, it wanted to get dirty and have some fun. So I turned around on the roundabout that went to the highway and went back to a powerline route. Here's a few photos of that journey.

Suffice to say, I got muddy, the bike got muddy, there were places I thought I was getting stuck and I got to test out my new crash guards. They work very well. I also got told by my bike it will go where it wants to go and it is in control, hit a few spots I thought I was confident and in control... it showed me with a few wobbles that I need to respect it...

Great ride....
